Thank you from 'Caring for the Community'

Lancaster, CA - The Marco and Sandra Johnson Foundation and the University of Antelope Valley continued to show commitment to the AV by hosting the Ninth Annual “Caring for the Community” dinner service and toy distribution Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the UAV Sierra campus.

Started by UAV founders, Marco and Sandra Johnson, Caring for the Community had humble beginnings, as the Johnsons and their children hand-delivered flyers throughout the community in 2007, serving approximately 20-30. Today, volunteers served a holiday feast to more than 2,000 and toys, warm clothing and non-perishable food items were distributed to more than 2,500.

This community event is an extensive undertaking and would not be possible annually without the support of many volunteers and donors.

The foundation extends a special thank you to the many community and regional donors, as well as the UAV student body, faculty, staff, chefs, facilities management, banquet, Student Council, alumni and the many, many behind the scenes volunteers.
